End of the Line

Well, this is it. My last day of my field placement. It's very bittersweet for me. I really enjoyed my time at St. Joe's and I'm going to miss my co-workers very much. I'm off from Monday - Friday next week, and I have no idea what I'll do with myself since I'm used to working 6 and 7 days/wk. I'm pretty sure I'll be bored. I'll probably catch up on some much needed sleep. I figured it's owed to me though since I chose to work through my reading week. My article that I wrote about NEEMO 9 was published and I received a bunch of copies to show off. Woohoo! If anyone is desperate to read it (i'm SURE) you can pick up a copy at the hospital, they're all over the place. But it will only be up for about 2 weeks.
So with my placement at an end, I'm desperate to find a real job. Another summer of slaving away, making 500 sandwhiches in a hot kitchen everyday really doesn't have me all that thrilled. I've literally applied to like 10-15 positions, mostly in Toronto and I haven't heard a thing. Why is it so freakin hard to break through? So many jobs require 5-8 years of experience! And all the entry-level positions that I find are usually scams, who just want to rob students blind (*ahem* VECTOR MARKETING - don't EVER fall for that one. Trust me on this one.) And there's literally NOTHING in Hamilton in my field. That's not even an option. But, I digress...I shall stop my bitching and just keep on pluggin'. I have to find something eventually, right? RIGHT?
I'm working all weekend so I really don't have any exciting plans to discuss. I'm feeling like I need to drink though, like seriously drink. Haven't done that for a while...and with no school to go to...ooh, flashbacks to the summer. Yikes (feel free to browse the archives if you don't know why i'm having flashbacks.)
Oh, and I have to say that I highly recommend going to see "Thank You for Smoking" . One of the best movies I've seen in a while, and it totally reflects the industry that I want to get into.

Here's a little joke to end off your Friday (avoid if you're a devoutly religious, yes, this is a disclaimer)
A Priest and a Rabbi are walking down the street when they come across a young boy. The Priest says "Let's fuck him", and the Rabbi says "Out of what?"

Ooh snap...

The easter bunny did not rise from the dead...

Booyakasha!
It's a short week crackahs! And that makes me very happy...
I have exactly one week left at co-op as of tomorrow and then I can start making money again! Ka-ching! Tonight i'm going to look at two apartments here in hamtown, one of which i'm a little excited about. It looks quite nice, although it's in a basement...so that puts me of a little. But i'm excited just to go and look. When i do find a place, you'd better believe i'm going to have one heck of a housewarming party!!
In other news, Happy Easter to all. I hope you all get the chance to bite some ears off of rabbits. And the title of this entry is a sign that i saw in front of a church downtown. I thought it was flippin' hilarious!
I'm also happy to report that Adrienne is coming home for the weekend! We plan to have a girl's night out tomorrow night, which is something i haven't done in far too long. Yay! Then saturday i'm doin...somethin...club...drink...i dunno. I just know i'm supposed to be doing something.

RESPEKT.

Wheeee!

Please take the time to check out the changes to my little blog. Especially HANGMAN! Which is now located in the bottom right-hand corner of the page. Addictive and fun.
I would also like to mention that I just got back from having dinner at a chinese resturant and my fortune cookie said "Beware of cookies bearing fortunes." IS THAT SOME SORT OF SICK JOKE!?! I still ate the cookie...

Big Day...

Yes it is indeed a big day for me today. Today at co-op we have a big event in conjunction with the Canadian Space Agency and NASA called NEEMO 9. It's getting a lot of press coverage, including CNN, CTV, CBC, CH etc...so you'd all better watch CH tonight at 6 and see if you can see me. I'm also covering the story for the hospital newsletter, which is exciting for me since it will be published. Basically, we're having all these grade 6 kids come in and we'll have a live hookup to the NASA astronauts in Florida so that the kids can be educated about the NEEMO mission and ask them questions in real-time. NEEMO is an underwater mission where a surgeon here at the hospital can use tele-robotic equiptment to perform surgery on a person underwater (and in other remote locations.) If you want to learn more, go to http://www.space.gc.ca/asc/eng/media/backgrounders/2006/0329.asp It's pretty cool stuff.

In other news, i'm sick AGAIN and i want to die. I'm high on cold meds right now. seriously. I've had this cold for like a month, no joke and i can't seem to kick it.

That's all for now. Remember to watch the news!
